About this Product

This square tea candle holder is made from reclaimed cedar. It was originally the mailbox post for our house. The wood bees destroyed most of it, but we salvaged what we could and saved it for a future project. I'm finally putting it to use years later!

This is a very rustic piece and a simple design. The wood grain is lovely.

Meet the Maker

I inherited my mom's craftiness, and I get a lot of joy from making things!

My current crafty focus is on woodworking and painting. Bringing the two together is especially satisfying. I love making fine woodworking pieces, but I don't shy away from throwing together something rustic using reclaimed wood.

Seasonal items are fun because they give me something new to play with all the time. I can always look forward to the next season if I'm caught in the doldrums. Creating something lovely and useful is my favorite. But it's also nice to just make something pretty.

If you like the style of something but prefer a different color scheme, please don't hesitate to reach out. Custom orders will take more time. But it's worth it to wait a little while for the perfect piece!

How it’s Made

I used the table saw to knock off the majority of the paint and unevenness. It still has traces of the white paint in the small cracks. I was still new to the table saw when I made it, so it has some saw swirls on the sides. I think it adds a bit of character. The finish is shellac.
